Smarter Infrastructure Presenters

Mr. Tim Harvey
Chief, Park Facility Management Division
National Park Service, Washington Office

Mr. Harvey has been with the National Park Service (NPS) for over 38 years.  Having grown up in Yosemite National Park, it was only natural that he began his career in Yosemite, first as a seasonal fire control aid and after serving in the United States Army accepted his first permanent assignment as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.

Mr. Harvey’s current position is Chief of the Park Facility Management Division for the National Park Service, where he provides leadership and policy direction to ensure the stewardship of the Service’s constructed assets. Much of Tim’s efforts over the last decade were related to building an understanding of the portfolio of assets the NPS has stewardship responsibility for. As a result, the NPS can more fully comprehend the depth and breadth of the real property portfolio—from its more than 70,000 locations documented in the Facility Management Software System (FMSS), to its geographic spread across 401 park units on 84 million acres of land, to its current replacement value of nearly $200 billion.
